Yesterday evening was a special night: Daan van der Valk from H. de Vries Bookstore in Haarlem had organised a dinner party to celebrate my new book: Home Made WINTER in the bookstore itself. Sabien Bosman chef of Staal Catering cooked a 4 course menu from my own recipes and all I had to do was turn up and sit down with the huge amount of people who who came from far and nearby to enjoy this event with me. I was overwhelmed by all of the guests, surprised to see faces from the past and happy to meet new friends too.

I’m sorry if I didn’t have time to speak to all of you in person, it’s sometimes hard to tear yourself away when you’re enjoying a conversation with someone nice you’ve just met. After dinner I tried to draw and write something personal in every book that came by, thank you all for coming! It really felt like it was my birthday.

Thank you Sabien and Daan for making this so special, I promise I’ll be back this summer with a BBQ in front of the shop!

For all of you who missed this event: I’ll be at Duikelman, Amsterdam this weekend, with home made goodies from my new book.
I’ll be there from 12:00 to 16:00 so come along for a drink and I’ll draw something in my new book especially for you.
