Home Made WINTER is on its way!
September 15, 2011
In just 3 weeks my new book home made WINTER will hit the stores in Holland. I’ve been working on it for a long time already and even just travelled with it to Barcelona to get it printed at Indice, where they did a great job again.
Home made WINTER is the first half of two books: home made ZOMER (Summer) will arrive spring 2012, so I’m not ready yet!
The WINTER book is all about comforting winter food, with inspiration from Ireland, France and Holland, the countries where I’ve lived and live. There are simple recipes for classics that everyone thought they were difficult to make, such as croquettes, pulled pork and apple cider. Step by step guides for making butter for example, the Dutch ‘Ossenworst’ sausage or Baileys. I also give recipes for things we eat on winter holidays: like Plum Pudding for Christmas, Colcannon on Halloween, Galette des Rois on Epiphany.
Just like with Home Made, I did everything in this very personal cookbook myself again: the design, the illustrations and I prepared all the dishes for photography. The pictures were taken by my husband, photographer Oof Verschuren.
I’m so excited to give you a tiny sneak peak of the book. My publisher Fontaine turned these 3 spreads in to pretty postcards to give away at book stores etcetera. So look out for them when your there!
